Our Story

When we first met.

E: I saw him the first time in front of a music shop, together with a future colleague of ours. The moment I saw him, I thought he was good looking and interesting!

G: I do not remember that moment actually…

E: Afterwards, we saw each other months later… we ended up working together in the same startup.

G: However, it took a while to start interacting! I was skeptical a bit, let’s face it.
E: True story. He thought I was the girlfriend of this colleague of ours. But I was not!
But yes, we started to interact more and more in front of the coffee machine. It took months, though, to get in touch.
We started talking about intelligence, mainly of the artificial kind, and having any kind of interesting conversation… So, one day I took the courage to ask you out.

G: She was a colleague so I was very cautious. However, I said “YES, let’s have a glass of wine”.

E: I remember standing in front of Skype, waiting for his answer. I think I already kind of liked him.

G: She could not resist to my charm… (wink wink)

E: So, we started hanging out as friends and we went to a museum one day. It was the 25th of April and it was a sunny day. I believe that from that moment on, we bonded. I felt that I was the best version of myself with Gio.

G: … That is very nice to hear.

E: You are welcome!

G: After a while, in one of our dates, I said “to do not fall in love with me…” How ironic.

E: And I responded that I did not have any intention of doing so :)

The Development.

We dated for more than 2 years… We just wanted to be sure.

Elisabetta went to Germany for the Erasmus program and we both realized how much we were missing each other and we could make it work.

After deciding of being together, we had another challenge as a couple: Gio was going to live in Amsterdam and Eli was still finishing the university.

We spent more than 2 years apart, seeing each other only every 2/3 months. It was a real challenge!

After the university, Eli came to the Netherlands to find a job and immediately living together.

We had some ups and downs since we needed to adapt to each other’ space (passing from do not seeing each other at all to living together it is not easy!). But we started to feel that we were even more in love than before.

Before Corona hit, we went to Budapest for a romantic weekend. It was there that we started to feel the need of being married and making it official in front of family and friends.

However, fun fact, there is no official proposal yet!
Eli just decided and Gio said ‘‘okay’’ :D

Sounds great! But… When and Where?
